1. Overview
Company Name (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides AI Stylist, a Shopify application that helps merchants offer personalized product discovery, outfit matching, and virtual try-on experiences. This policy explains the information processed when merchants install the app and shoppers use its storefront features.
Shopify merchants using AI Stylist are responsible for their own privacy notices and for configuring the app in accordance with applicable law.
2. Information we handle
Merchant information
We process information needed to provide and operate the app, which may include the merchant’s Shopify store domain, app authorization details, product catalog data, app settings, store guidance, plan and usage information, and communications with support.
Shopper interactions
When a shopper uses AI Stylist, we may process their prompts, product preferences, session identifiers, selected products, and technical information needed to operate and protect the service. Merchants may enable order verification, in which case limited order details supplied by the shopper may be checked against Shopify.
Website information
This marketing website does not intentionally set analytics or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamps, to deliver and secure the website.
3. Shopper images
Virtual try-on photos
A shopper photo uploaded for virtual try-on is placed in short-lived temporary storage only while a generation request and any automatic retry are processed. It is deleted after a successful generation or after the final failed retry. The photo itself is not written to the application database.
Outfit matcher item photos
A photo of an item a shopper owns is processed in memory for moderation and visual attribute extraction. It is not written to temporary or persistent application storage.
Generated images
Generated try-on or outfit-preview images are stored so they can be displayed to the shopper. Depending on the feature and merchant configuration, generated results may remain available beyond the immediate request. Do not upload an image unless you have the right and permission to use it.
Model or mannequin mode
Merchants may offer a model or mannequin visualization that does not require a shopper photo. When that mode is used, no shopper selfie is uploaded for the generation.
4. AI and other service providers
We use service providers to host the application, store data, process requests, moderate content, analyze images, and generate text or images. Depending on deployment settings, AI processing may be performed by providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. Only providers enabled for a deployment receive the information needed for their role.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Merchants should disclose the providers enabled for their store where required.
5. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, personalize, and secure AI Stylist.
- Match shopper requests with merchant products and store guidance.
- Process visual matching and image-generation requests.
- Monitor usage, enforce limits, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot errors.
- Respond to merchant questions and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information or use shopper-uploaded photos for advertising.
6. Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Retention varies by information type and merchant configuration. Temporary shopper images follow the deletion practices described above.
Shopify access tokens are encrypted at rest. We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Privacy requests and Shopify deletion events
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information. Shoppers should first contact the Shopify merchant whose storefront they used, because that merchant controls the customer relationship.
AI Stylist processes Shopify’s required privacy webhooks. When a merchant uninstalls the app or Shopify sends an applicable shop-redaction request, associated merchant records and app data are scheduled for deletion as required.
8. Children’s privacy
AI Stylist is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Merchants are responsible for applying any higher age threshold required in their jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.
